After years of competitive hockey and rowing, Brendan set out to fix his several chronic injuries. He has a university background in kinesiology, is a One of a Kind Fitness (OKF) certified Coach, a Foot Collective (TFC) Foot Nerd Graduate, as well as being a International Sport Sciences Association (ISSA) Certified Personal Trainer and Nutritionist. After the several courses he’s taken and the many training styles he’s thoroughly adopted, he’s have found a formula that works and is using it to help others live their life to the fullest.
I have always been involved in sports and athletic pursuits, but chronic shin splints, back pain, and a separated shoulder sent me on a learning journey to figure out what traditional doctors, chiropractors, and physiotherapists hadn’t been able to fo for me: how to get out of pain permanently instead of applying a temporary fix. I now play many sports regularly & pain-free, and I’m on a mission to help others do the same by fixing the root-cause problems of their pain.
LTFH Philosophy:
Traditional rehabilitation & pain relief is a combination of a laundry list of strengthening & mobility exercises, medications, & surgery. While it has its place, it didn’t and still doesn’t make sense; it was that belief that drove me to find a proper solution. I teach you the WHY behind pain & pain relief, to become self-sufficient and pain-free. My goal is for you to understand how to fix your own pain, which will also save your time, money, & frustration.

LTHF uses ‘One of a Kind Fitness’ (OKF) training from founder Devon Brown to coach you out of pain and into pain-free athleticism. We strive to prevent injuries in athletes and regular people alike, including elderly populations. The exercises we do prepare your body to handle the forces you’ll encounter in your life, and then your daily movements reinforce the movement patterns we’ve prepared for with OKF training.
LTFH Qualifications:

ISSA CPT & Nutritionist
The International Sports Sciences Association’s ‘Certified Personal Trainer’ and ‘Nutritionist’ courses and exams provide a background for exercise and nutrition physiology, as well as behavioural intervention strategies and exercise programming & application.

University & Sports Background
Brendan is a Ontario College of Teachers Health & Physical Education Teacher, with a university background in kinesiology. He rowed for Brock University’s Varsity Program, and learned Olympic weightlifting and sports performance exercises from Brock’s Sports Performance Coaches. Brendan also has over a decade of experience training with performance coaches for hockey, played rep soccer, and has coached several high school sports teams including rowing, basketball, volleyball, & rugby. He plays a wide variety of sports to test his body’s capacities, and to develop a more well-rounded set of movement skills that he can use to help his clients.

One of a Kind Fitness Certified Coach
One of a Kind Fitness comes from founder Devon Brown in Maryland. In his words, “One of a Kind Fitness is an upgrade on traditional training. With the understanding that the human body is naturally developed to advance from crawling to walking to running, and knowing that the primary movement pattern of a human is the gait cycle, we’ve been able to modify some traditional strength training exercises while also creating some of our own. These exercises are designed to get you out of pain, so that you can stay healthy while getting stronger to enjoy your life. Our goal is to build strength and stability while reducing compensation patterns that affect our gait and other natural movement mechanics.” LTFH uses the OKF framework as a primary base for helping people get out of pain.
